FAQ

DO YOU DELIVER?

We deliver all along the Wasatch Front and to Summit and Wasatch Counties for a delivery fee. We believe it is worth it to have all wedding cakes and multi-tiered special occasion cakes delivered, as it is the best way to ensure your cake arrives in good condition. If you choose to pick up the cake, be sure to check out our tips (the next question) for successfully transporting your cake. We suggest you pick up most standard-sized birthday and special occasion cakes.  Dessert catering orders can be delivered for the delivery fee or picked up. Pricing for delivery is:

Utah County – $30-$50

Salt Lake County – $50

Davis/Wasatch Counties – $75

Summit County – $100

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO TRANSPORT MY CAKE?

Cakes ride best in a cool (cold) car on the flattest part of the floor.  Also, take care when turning corners and stopping. Give yourself plenty of braking distance and give yourself more time than you think you need. We want your cake to arrive just as beautiful as it was when it left the bakery.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO WE NEED TO ORDER?

This is a difficult one to answer. We are a two-woman operation, so we are limited on the number of orders we can handle at any given time, so we suggest if you know you want us to create your cake or special dessert, you order as early as possible. But always check with us. There will be times when we can fill a short-notice request.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO BOOK THE DESSERT STUDIO?

Most birthday cakes and simpler desserts can be booked through messaging or calling the bakery. Details can usually be decided that way. For wedding cakes or larger cakes, we suggest an in-person consultation. At the consultation, we will provide a complimentary tasting menu of three cake flavors and fillings of your choice. If you’d like to taste more cakes or other items, there is a charge of $10 per item. At the consultation, we will discuss design elements, pricing, and specific details. You will go home with whatever is left from your tasting menu, so you can share it with others and get their feedback if you wish.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE?

Karey owned and operated her own wedding cake business for about a dozen years, where she made hundreds of buttercream and fondant wedding cakes. After a move and several years of writing novels instead of baking cakes, she and Savannah decided to open The Dessert Studio.
